Dr. Arthur A. Kezian, DDS, a cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles , established his annual scholarship program several years ago to encourage and support students pursuing careers in science. As students work toward higher education, the cost of tuition and other educational expenses can create significant financial challenges. Dr. Kezian created this scholarship to help ease some of that burden and give deserving students additional support as they work toward their academic goals.
Having studied biochemistry at UCLA before earning his dental degree, Dr. Kezian understands firsthand the financial pressures that can accompany higher education. Through this scholarship program, he hopes to provide students with meaningful financial assistance, allowing them to worry a little less about the cost of school and devote more time and energy to pursuing their education and future careers.
This year, we are honored to announce a new scholarship recipient to award and congratulate Daniel Alejandro Landaeta Molares. Daniel is an incredible, well-rounded student who has many amazing achievements in the pursuit of science, specifically in the field of chemistry and engineering.
Daniel is a detail-oriented, hardworking, and striving student, looking to make his mark in the field of engineering. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Daniel’s family was forced to relocate when he was about seven years old for a chance at better opportunity overall and to escape political and socioeconomic pitfalls under the regime. Picking up English immediately and immediately making his mark during his foundational elementary and secondary years, Daniel showed immense hunger for knowledge, enjoyment in learning, and the passion for discovery, eventually leading to him starting university this semester as a University of Florida freshman.
To demonstrate such desire and passion, he was quick to involve himself throughout high school with rigorous academics with the Advanced Placement, Pathways to College Dual Enrollment, and Cambridge AICE Diploma programs. However, what was the most impactful of all was his attendance of his first-ever Chemistry Night showcase as a freshman. Having never been able to witness science experiments before, much less in the scale shown in the event, awoke a new depth of desire for discovery for Daniel. This resulted in his service to the chemistry department of his high school through volunteering in Chemistry Nights. Theory had not been enough for Daniel, so he sought out more with the new tools and avenues he was granted access to. He wished to recreate the ‘spark’ that had later engulfed his mind for others and to involve themselves with science, especially with his school being predominantly Hispanic.
These showcases helped Daniel involve himself physically with the scientific world with the proper tools and lab etiquette through experiments to display to the public, which he later on undertook leadership as a coordinator for such events, involving himself thoroughly with the preparation and presentation of the event with a team of volunteers. Hands-on experience is now a must in Daniel’s life, especially if it is able to teach you more of our world.
His goal post only continues to shift as he continues to gain more ground and aspire for greater ambitions, with hopes of becoming a mechanical engineer that works in the automotive industry and with its manufacturers to spearhead vehicle carbon neutrality.
These roles and achievements are reflections of his character and values which align with the values of the Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS Science scholarship .
Daniel was very appreciative and honored to be the recipient of the Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS Science Scholarship for the 2025-2026 school years. When he was asked about his thoughts on the award and the impact it will have on his career, he replied with the following:
“I’m beyond thankful for this award, for it serves as ample encouragement for me to continue to dream big and achieve such big things. To know that someone like Dr. Kezian is in my corner and believes in what I can provide for the world after my foundational college years, it puts my mind at ease to focus all my efforts forward.”

The scholarship committee believes Daniel is highly deserving of this award and wishes him continued success as he moves forward in his academic and professional journey. We are proud of what he has achieved and look forward to seeing him build a rewarding career in the fields of health care and science.
Dr. Kezian would also like to thank everyone who submitted an application for this year’s scholarship. With more than 150 students applying, selecting just one recipient was a challenging decision. He encourages all applicants to continue working toward their educational goals, pursuing their dreams, and putting in the hard work necessary to succeed.
Students who were not selected this year are encouraged to apply again during the next scholarship cycle for another opportunity to receive $1,200 toward their education. Applications will reopen on November 1, 2026.
